Who we are
We are Light’s Hope, an independent, progressive church, denomination and movement, rooted in welcome and built for today. A church without walls so no matter where you are, you can come along. Our life is shaped by the richness of Christian tradition, including Anglican liturgy and prayer, with worship, Baptism, and Communion at the heart of community. Everyone is genuinely welcome here, no exceptions, no conditions. Our ministers, curates, deacons, and priests, serve as companions, not gatekeepers, walking alongside with care and support. As an independent, Jesus centric church, we are free to carry this tradition forward in ways that are inclusive, progressive, and real.
Here, faith isn’t a requirement and doubt isn’t a barrier. Whoever you are: LGBTQIA2+, neurodivergent, spiritually curious, deconstructed, wounded, hopeful, on a different path, part of a different faith or someone who has never believed at all, you are welcome. We honour the full spectrum of human experience, believing every story brings something sacred. We follow the example of Jesus, who never turned people away. Our values are simple: people over process, truth with kindness, justice with mercy, joy, integrity, hope, and belonging.
We’re committed to building beyond ourselves: planting new communities where welcome is needed, offering clear and supportive ordination pathways, and partnering with others to serve the common good. Our worship is warm and accessible, our safeguarding transparent, and our life together open to questions, laughter, and shared responsibility. Whoever you are, however you come — you have a place here.

What We Believe
We are centred on Jesus Christ — his life, death, and resurrection shape our faith and our life together. In him we see God made known: not a distant figure on a cloud, but the living presence at the heart of all creation, the love that holds the universe in being.
When we speak of God, we mean the source and sustainer of life, the Spirit moving in the universe, the mystery and mercy at the heart of everything. This is not a God who excludes, but one who calls each person by name and meets us as we are.
Our faith is not about having every answer. It is about walking with Christ, learning his way of love, and discovering that God’s presence is wider and deeper than we imagined.
Communities & Charities
We Support
As part of living out our faith, we work alongside, are part of and/or support a range of inclusive and progressive organisations and charities. These partnerships help us put words into practice — whether that’s standing with the LGBTQIA+ community, supporting justice initiatives, or resourcing churches to become safer and more accessible.
We believe the church is at its best when it learns and serves together with others. By joining hands with those who share a commitment to dignity, equality, and compassion, we show that the love of Christ is not confined to our own walls but reaches into every part of society.
